Anime Dice What to Upgrade First

A decision tree for cash, Gems, Trait Rerolls, and the Rebirth button.

Upgrade Priority

Open this page when the next click is expensive and your brain wants to buy everything. Anime Dice has four wallets — cash, Lucky Spins, Trait Rerolls, Gems — plus a prestige button that pretends to be a fifth. The tree below spends them in the order that matches Update 2. Sister tool: codes checklist. Long versions: dice upgrades, grades, rebirth.

The tree

1. Are any pads empty?
Place anything. Coverage beats every shop. How to make money.

2. Have you redeemed live codes?
If not, Shop → Codes. Codes hub. Do not skip RELEASE on an alt.

3. Do you lack a keeper (rare, mutated, or obviously above filler)?
Buy the cheapest luck-facing dice node, then burst Lucky Spins. Lucky spins.

4. Do you have a keeper with a dead trait and leftover Trait Rerolls?
One or two rerolls, then stop. Traits and mutations. Never mill a mutation.

5. Do you have Gems and a keeper?
Grade that unit. Do not split. Best units.

6. Is the next dice node cheap relative to your cash tick?
Buy luck, not vanity. Dice upgrades.

7. Is the next dice node insulting, pads full, keeper Graded?
Rebirth, then restart at step 1. Rebirth.

If you always exit at step 1–3, you are still in the getting started hour. That is fine.

Examples

New account, three codes just popped. Step 2 is done. Pads probably empty → step 1. Then step 3. You will not reach rebirth today.

Mid account, dice node costs a mountain, Grade is 0 on the rare. You skipped step 5. Grade first. The mountain might still be a mountain afterward, but the rare will pay the climb.

Post-Update 2, new pretty face, Gems in the bank. Do not jump to Grade the new face. Run the best units tie-breaker. If the old main already holds Grade, stay at step 6 or 7.

What this tree ignores on purpose

Index holes. Cosmetic Shop. Scripts. Leaderboard screenshots. Those are not upgrades. Index has its own page (index and collection) because it is a stamp book, not a wallet.

After a patch

If Update 3 (or a hotfix) adds a rebirth gate, insert it between steps 6 and 7: “Do you own the gate unit?” If not, go back to step 3. Track those gates on the updates hub.

Print the seven questions. The correct next click is usually earlier in the list than your impatience wants.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions.

Should I buy dice upgrades or Grade first?

If you have no keeper, dice luck first. If a keeper exists and Gems are idle, Grade first. Follow the tree on this page.

When does rebirth beat another dice node?

When pads are full, the keeper is Graded, and the next node feels insulting. Details in rebirth.

Where do Lucky Spins sit in the order?

After a cheap luck node and a full plot, before Trait Rerolls. See lucky spins.

Is Index part of upgrade priority?

No. Stamp it after bursts. Do not spend Gems to complete the book.
