Anime Dice Mutations

Protect the rare variant. Do not tidy it away. Do not Trait Reroll it on autopilot.

Mutations

The official blurb asks you to collect rare anime-inspired characters and mutations. Mutations are the layer most new plots delete by accident. This page is the protect-it list. Trait rerolls live next door on traits and mutations and the traits tier list. Who deserves the pad lives on best units.

A mutation is a special version of a unit — a visual variant, a multiplier, or both. You usually roll into it. Gems do not craft it. Codes do not spawn a named mutant. Lucky Spins and dice luck only tilt the table (lucky spins, dice upgrades).

Why mutations jump a tier

Income on a pad is roughly rarity × Grade × trait × mutation × pad. Knocking out the mutation layer is how a “god roll” becomes average. That is why the unit tier list puts mutated high rarity in S even when the face is ugly.

The official thumbnails (pale armored hollow-style, white-haired cyan caster) are the vibe, not a mutation decoder. Confirm the mutation tag in the card or Index. A Common that looks mutated is still a Common.

Protect rules

  • Do not sell a mutated unit to make room unless you already hold a strictly better mutation.
  • Do not Trait Reroll a mutated unit that already has a cash-facing trait. You can brick the only copy you will see this week.
  • Put mutated units on the strongest pads before bed so offline earnings multiply the right body.
  • Grade mutated keepers first (grades).
  • Open Index after a luck burst so the stamp lands before you vendor (index and collection).

Mutations versus traits

Traits overwrite. Mutations generally do not. That asymmetry is the whole discipline. Spend Trait Rerolls from UPDATE2 on a mutated keeper only when the current trait is dead. Otherwise bank the reroll. Code rewards exist so you do not mill the stack on a rental.

If a dice node mentions mutation chance, take it after you already have raw luck online. Before your first mutation, rare rate still wins because a mutated Common is a cute Common.

Mutations versus rebirth

Verify on your client whether mutated units survive prestige. Cash usually resets. Index usually stays. The physical unit on the pad usually does not. If mutations vanish on rebirth, do not prestige five minutes after your first mutant lands — Grade it, earn, then reset. Rebirth.

What we will not invent

There is no public frozen list of mutation names for Update 2. This page will not fabricate “Shiny Hollow +12%.” When More & More Games publishes names, they belong here. Until then, play the tag, not the fan wiki rumour.

Hunt mutations with luck, not with scripts (scripts). Rank them with the tier list. Spend mornings with upgrade priority. Keep the mutant.

A mutation is a once-per-dry-streak object. Treat it that way.

After a Lucky Spin burst, walk the pads once before you open Shop again. Name the mutated unit in your head, park it, Grade it if Gems remain, then log the Index stamp. Only then spend leftover cash on dice nodes. That order stops the classic delete: rolling a mutant, getting distracted by the clover, and vendoring the body because the plot looked messy. Messy plots with mutants still beat tidy plots without them.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions.

Can I buy a mutation with Gems?

No. Gems buy Grade. Mutations come from rolls and luck nodes. See grades.

Should I reroll traits on a mutated unit?

Only if the current trait is dead. Otherwise you risk bricking the variant. Guide: traits and mutations.

Do mutations count in the Index?

They often add a row. Stamp before you sell. Index.

Is a mutated Common better than a base rare?

Sometimes, after Grade. Compare stacks on the unit tier list, not silhouettes.
