Anime Dice Rarity Ladder
Banner odds are marketing. Pad coverage is math. Here is how to treat each rarity band.
Every Anime Dice thumbnail screams 1 in 9,342,584. That number is the fantasy ceiling for an ultra-rare roll, not a pity timer and not a quest log. This page explains how to treat rarity bands so you do not stall a plot waiting for a screenshot. Pair it with the unit tier list and dice upgrades.
Rarity is the base of the income stack. Grade, traits, mutations, and pads multiply it. A Common with five multipliers can beat a neglected rare. A rare with zero pads still beats nothing only after you place it.
How to read the banner number
1 in 9.3 million is a marketing odds line for the top visual. Dice luck and Lucky Spins exist because that line would otherwise be a joke. You are not failing the game when six UPDATE2 spins miss it. You are playing the intended table. The lucky spins guide is explicit: spins tilt, they do not guarantee.
If a YouTube thumbnail for a different dice game shows a similar number, it is a genre cliché. Do not import their codes. Ours are UPDATE2, UPDATE1, and RELEASE on the codes hub.
Band-by-band value
Common / grey fillers. Coverage. Place them, log off, replace later. Zero Gems. Zero Trait Rerolls. They are C-tier on the unit tier list on purpose.
Uncommon / mid. Temporary keepers. One reroll allowed if the trait is F. Useful until the first real rare sits down.
Rare and above. Gems start here. These units are why grades exists. If you own only one, it is your main even if you dislike the face.
Ultra / banner-adjacent. The hollow-style and cyan-caster official art lives here emotionally. Mechanically, confirm the rarity tag in the Index. A Common that looks like the banner is still a Common.
Mutated any band. Jump the unit up one value band at least. Mutations are rarer than a pretty base. Protect them using traits and mutations.
Rarity versus Index
Index wants unique entries. High rarity helps because you have not seen those faces yet, but filling Index with Commons still progresses the book. Do not skip placing a Common because “it is not Index worthy.” The book is a bonus; pads are the job. Walkthrough: index and collection.
Rarity versus rebirth
Some incrementals gate rebirth on owning a specific rarity. If your Rebirth button is grey, read the tooltip before you vendor your only rare. Rebirth covers the rest. Selling the gate unit to tidy the plot is an own-goal.
How luck changes the ladder
Dice nodes and Lucky Spins do not add a new rarity that this page forgot. They change how often you see the bands you already know. After Update 2, if a new named band appears in the Index, it slots above Rare until we see cash numbers. Track that on Update 2.
Practical rule
If you can point at a pad and say “this unit survives the next luck burst,” spend scarce currencies. If you cannot, the unit is a rental. Rentals still pay overnight. Rentals do not get Gems.
When two rares drop, Grade one. Split Grades is how both stay mid. Best units is the tie-breaker if they look equal.
Rarity is a ceiling. You still have to build the room.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions.
What does 1 in 9,342,584 mean in Anime Dice?
It is the official ultra-rare banner odds, not a pity counter. Luck nodes and Lucky Spins only tilt that table.
Are Commons worthless?
No. They fill pads and print offline cash. They are worthless as Gem sinks. See how to make money.
Does a mutation beat a higher base rarity?
Often yes, especially after Grade. Compare stacks, not labels. Guide: traits and mutations.
Should I wait to place units until I roll a rare?
Never. Empty pads are F-tier. Place Commons now; replace them when the rare arrives.
