Anime Dice Upgrade Your Dice Luck

Spend cash on luck-facing dice nodes before you vanity-level filler units.

Dice Upgrades

The die is the gacha. Everything that makes Anime Dice feel fair or cursed lives in dice upgrades. More & More Games even put the loop in the official blurb: roll characters, then upgrade the die for more luck. This page is how to spend cash on that promise without going broke on cosmetic nodes. For the rest of the HUD, use how to play. For the cash that pays for nodes, use how to make money.

Dice upgrades are account-run progress. They are also one of the things rebirth is allowed to reset or discount depending on the current prestige tree — which is why you should read rebirth before you dump a fortune into a node you are about to prestige past.

What “luck” means here

Luck is not a visible combat stat. It is a weight on the rarity table. Official thumbnails scream 1 in 9,342,584 because the top of that table is supposed to feel impossible. Dice nodes shave the impossible. They do not delete it. You will still roll Commons. You will roll fewer of them per cash spent if luck is funded.

Lucky Spins are a temporary extra weight on the same table. They stack with nodes; they do not replace them. Spend spins after a node, not instead of a node. Full spin logic: lucky spins.

Buy order that actually works

  1. Cheapest luck-facing node that is not hidden behind a rebirth gate you have not earned.
  2. Capacity / stock nodes if the die is refusing to roll because you are out of stored rolls — a full luck tree you cannot click is theatre.
  3. Offline or income nodes only after pads are already full. A 5% cash node on three pads loses to filling five empty pads for free.
  4. Vanity or visual die skins last, if they even cost cash. They do not pay rent.

If two nodes cost the same and only one mentions fortune, luck, rare rate, or mutation chance, take that one. Mutation chance is how you reach the units the tier list actually wants.

Cash versus Gems versus Trait Rerolls

Dice nodes want cash. Grade wants Gems. Traits want Trait Rerolls. Mixing those wallets is the main upgrade mistake. Gems on a die that does not accept Gems is a misclick you will not get back. Keep Gems on the keeper described in grades. Keep rerolls on traits and mutations. Keep cash on the die until the next node feels more expensive than a rebirth multiplier.

The upgrade priority tool is a short version of this paragraph for alt accounts.

When to stop buying dice nodes

Stop when:

  • The next luck node costs more than a clean rebirth would return in the following session.
  • You still have empty pads (you are buying luck for units you cannot place).
  • You are about to log off and the plot is not full — pads beat nodes for offline income.

Keep buying when:

  • Commons still dominate even after a Lucky Spin burst.
  • You have a keeper that needs a mutation sibling and the mutation node is cheap.
  • Update 2 (or a later patch) added a new luck branch you have not touched. Check Update 2 so you are not grinding a deprecated node.

Dice upgrades and codes

UPDATE2 / UPDATE1 / RELEASE do not upgrade the die directly. They give you the burst currencies that use the die. Redeem them from the codes hub, buy one node, then spin. That three-step sandwich is the entire early game.

If a Shop tab tries to sell you extra luck for Robux, treat it as optional acceleration. This wiki will not pretend a paid skip is required. The free loop works; it is just slower.

Practical session

Fill pads → buy the cheapest luck node → burst spins → replace worst pads → stop. If you still feel cursed, you do not need a new tutorial; you need either a mutation-facing node or a scheduled rebirth. For who occupies the good pads after the luck spike, ask the best units page, not the die.

Dice upgrades are boring by design. Boring is what prints. Once luck is funded, the rest of Anime Dice is inventory management.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions.

What should I upgrade first on the Anime Dice die?

The cheapest luck-facing node you can click, after pads are filling. Skip skins. See also upgrade priority.

Do Lucky Spins replace dice upgrades?

No. Spins stack with luck nodes. Use them after a purchase, as explained in lucky spins.

Will rebirth delete my dice upgrades?

Expect some reset. That is why you rebirth when the next node is overpriced. Full rules: rebirth.

Do Gems upgrade the die?

Gems buy unit Grade, not dice nodes. Keep Gems on keepers via grades.
